Family Caregivers Need Support Too
Family caregivers often provide extraordinary levels of support to the people they love.
Their responsibilities may include personal care, appointments, medication, household tasks, emotional support and advocating for their loved one. Over time, these responsibilities can become physically and emotionally demanding.
Caregivers need support too.
Taking a break, accepting help and speaking about your own needs does not reduce your commitment to the person you support.
Caring for someone else and caring for yourself should not be viewed as competing priorities.
When caregivers receive the right information, practical assistance and emotional support, they are better placed to continue their important role.
